Annette Engler (LVT, CVPM, CCRP)

Licensed Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner

Annette has been working in veterinary practices since she was 14 years old. She joined the Union Lake Veterinary Team in 1995. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, and became Michigan’s first Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2001.

Her career path has taken her on many interesting journeys, to places such as the Caribbean, Florida, and Michigan. She has worked in specialty practices as a critical care nurse and internal medicine and surgical nurse, as well as in general medicine and as a practice manager.

Annette is continually striving to offer new and interesting services to our clients. She enjoys being a mentor to fellow veterinary practice owners and managers through consulting and practice management speaking engagements. She is also a certified DiSC trainer and gets great satisfaction out of helping with team-building, conflict resolution, and coaching of veterinary team members.

Annette is passionate about providing exceptional care to companion animals and is proud to lead her team. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, traveling, golfing, camping, hiking, reading, coaching, and mentoring.

Veterinarian, Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, Certified Hospice and Palliative Veterinarian, Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner

Dr. Reynolds is a graduate of Michigan State University, having earned her dual-degree bachelors of science in animal science and zoology in 1999 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2003.

During her time at MSU, she served as her veterinary class president for four years. She is a tried and true Spartan!

After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Reynolds began her career in Sacramento, California, where she completed a rigorous one-year internship at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group, concentrating on oncology, surgery, general medicine, and emergency medicine.

Dr. Reynolds has been with Union Lake Veterinary Hospital since 2004, and she is proud to be a part of such a comprehensive pet care complex that practices the highest quality of medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. Her special interests include dermatology, nutrition, client education, and she enjoys participating in continuing education.

Dr. Reynolds has a special interest in rehabilitation and obtained her CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) certification in December of 2014 from the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Lauren Liba, CAC, CVA

Veterinarian

Dr. Liba is a graduate of Michigan State University, having received a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2002 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After graduation, she spent eight years practicing emergency and critical care medicine, then transitioned to general practice at Union Lake. She is a Certified Animal Chiropractor, Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, and is Certified in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Dr. Liba’s special interests include exotic animal medicine, ophthalmology, ultrasonography, and soft tissue surgery. Practicing emergency medicine has allowed her to manage many challenging cases and see a wide variety of conditions. This experience has been invaluable at Union Lake.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Liba enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and pets. She also enjoys reading, running, and photography.

Certified Canine Fitness Trainer

Stephanie found her career and passion through her very first job at age 15 as a kennel attendant at Union Lake. She has been part of the team since 2007.

Throughout her time at Union Lake she has explored almost every department as a kennel and daycare manager, surgical and laboratory assistant, and occasional receptionist. In 2015, she began learning everything she could about canine rehabilitation, and soon after completed schooling to become a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer through the University of Tennessee.

Stephanie obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Central Michigan University. She has a love of animal behavior and the human-animal bond. She spends her time off hiking, doing yoga, and hanging around at home with her dogs and cats and plants.

Alicia Siegrist

Rehabilitation Assistant

Alicia has been with Union Lake since 2010, caring for our boarding and daycare friends. In 2018 she began working with patients at the Animal Rehabilitation Center and is now a full time rehab assistant.

Alicia is passionate about her rescued “swimmer” syndrome pup, Guppy, and rehabbing the difficult cases that others may feel are beyond help. She spends so much extra time and attention on our patients from Detroit Dog Rescue and really enjoys giving them the TLC they need to recover and find forever homes.

Alicia spends her time away from work training and strengthening Guppy, creating beautiful tie dye designs, and scratch baking. She sneaks up to work to check on her boarding patients on her days off as well…
