Annette has been working in veterinary practices since she was 14 years old. She joined the Union Lake Veterinary Team in 1995. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, and became Michigan’s first Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2001.
Her career path has taken her on many interesting journeys, to places such as the Caribbean, Florida, and Michigan. She has worked in specialty practices as a critical care nurse and internal medicine and surgical nurse, as well as in general medicine and as a practice manager.
Annette is continually striving to offer new and interesting services to our clients. She enjoys being a mentor to fellow veterinary practice owners and managers through consulting and practice management speaking engagements. She is also a certified DiSC trainer and gets great satisfaction out of helping with team-building, conflict resolution, and coaching of veterinary team members.
Annette is passionate about providing exceptional care to companion animals and is proud to lead her team. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, traveling, golfing, camping, hiking, reading, coaching, and mentoring.

Throughout her time at Union Lake she has explored almost every department, finding her comfort zone at Union Lake Veterinary Hospital as a surgical and laboratory assistant and occasional receptionist. Since Stephanie loves learning all she can and helping out pretty much everywhere – she has recently begun her cross-training at the Animal Rehabilitation Center of MI.
Stephanie is a Certified Pet Care Technician and is currently working full-time and pursuing two degrees; an Associate’s in Veterinary Technology and Bachelor’s in Psychology with concentrations in Behavior and Administration. She has a love of animal behavior and the human-animal bond.
Stephanie has no spare time but lives in Waterford with one man, two dogs, and two cats- all rescues.
